Kit layouts that earn their keep
Explore the layouts below. Each can be adjusted to suit your property and the way you’ll use it.
Room for the caravan. Space to get things done.
Start with what needs to fit, then the room you need around it. Bring the caravan’s overall dimensions if you have them, think about benches and storage, and check the approach to the doorway. A rough idea is enough to begin.
- Single / double / triple
- Roller doors
- PA doors

Farm sheds & rural kits
Machinery sheds, hay storage and workshop sheds in open-front and multi-bay configurations. Sized around your gear, your access and the way you move through the shed, not a generic footprint.
- Machinery & hay
- Open-front
- Multi-bay
Workshop kits
Spaces built to work in, not just store in, with room for benches, gear and movement. Add windows, glazing, insulation and ventilation to make a shed you’ll actually want to spend the day in.
- Bench-ready
- Insulation
- Natural light

Carports & garaports
Simple shelter coverage for vehicles and equipment: the fast, cost-effective option when you don’t need to lock things away. Garaports combine an enclosed bay with open cover for the best of both.
- Vehicle cover
- Enclosed + open
- Cost-effective
Industrial & commercial-style kits
Larger spans, higher clearance and access planning for vehicles and equipment. Options for office areas and mezzanine-ready designs where applicable, engineered for the loads and use you’re putting on it.
- Larger spans
- High clearance
- Mezzanine-ready

The right fit for your property
Engineered for your site
A kit still needs to suit its actual location and intended use. Your property details, wind conditions, span and height inform the engineering. We’ll explain the specification and the build or approvals support included in your chosen option.

A few useful details
Sizes and options depend on the design and site engineering. We’ll confirm the specification in your quote.
Practical help with your shed kit
Spec’d properly from the start
We help you size span, height, bays and openings around what you’re storing and how you’ll use it, so the kit fits the job, not just the budget line.
Premium Australian materials
We sell Australian-made BlueScope steel, with COLORBOND® steel options. Your quote confirms the materials and finishes for your shed.
Site-specific engineering
Wind region, exposure and site conditions all matter. We engineer your kit for your location and supply the documentation that supports approvals.
Help that fits your plans
Use your own builder, build the kit yourself where appropriate, or discuss approvals and construction support. We’ll confirm the work and responsibilities in your quote.

A kit can be shaped around a caravan, a workshop, farm storage or something else entirely. You do not need a finished design to start exploring the options.

Delivery, checked off together
Delivered by crane truck — the rollformer’s or our own — and lifted off at the closest safe access point. Unloading isn’t your job; you just make sure the truck can get in. We check the load off together against the bill of materials, in writing. Tell us in writing within seven days of delivery if anything is missing or damaged.
Questions, answered
You won’t find a price list here, and that’s deliberate. Every shed we quote is engineered to your specific site: wind region, soil, spans, doors, what it has to carry. Two sheds with the same footprint can be two different structures. Tell us where it’s going and what it has to do, and we’ll price it properly: one firm quote, GST included.
The engineered steel kit — frames, purlins, girts, cladding, fasteners — plus site-specific engineering certification for your block’s wind region and soil, plans and elevations (watermarked until paid in full), an installation manual with build-stage phone support, and delivery to site. Just as importantly, your quote lists every exclusion line by line: concrete and slab work, erection, moving materials beyond the crane truck’s drop point, council and certifier fees, earthworks and site prep, stormwater connection, make-good. Anything discussed but not detailed has not been allowed for.
Rural Built Co is ShedSafe accredited. The program provides an independent review of shed engineering design principles.
The practical question is whether the quoted specification suits your site and intended use. Ask us to explain the site wind speed and the factors behind it. This helps you compare the engineering as well as the price. Council and building approvals still need to be confirmed for your project.
Very. Dimensions, roof style, access points, openings, cladding coverage, colours and add-ons can all be tailored to your gear and site.
Steel kits are popular for strength, durability, low maintenance and speed of install, particularly in rural and exposed conditions.
Yes. Kit-only is a standard way to buy from us, not a fallback. You get the engineered kit, site-specific engineering certification, plans, and an installation manual, with phone support at every build stage. You build it as an owner-builder, or your local licensed builder puts it up.
Depends which way you buy. Kit Supply Only: the build and the council application are yours. You (or your installer) build it, you sign the owner-builder acknowledgment, and we supply the certified engineering that goes into your application. Kit + Approvals: you still run the build, but we coordinate the council and certifier side, with fees and reports at cost. We lodge it properly, but the approval decision is always council’s. Built With You: we’re the builder of record and the whole thing is ours to run.
Typical kit lead time is around 6–8 weeks after deposit, subject to manufacturing capacity and delivery availability. We’ll confirm the timing for your kit and any Christmas cutoff in your written quote. A pre-Christmas delivery date is not guaranteed until we confirm it with you.
Your kit arrives by crane truck — the rollformer’s or our own — and is lifted off at the closest safe access point on your property. Unloading isn’t your job; you just make sure the truck can get in (tight tracks, gates and soft ground — tell us on the quote). Once it’s down, we check the load off together against the bill of materials, in writing, so anything short or damaged is on record from day one. Tell us in writing within seven days of delivery if anything is missing or damaged. Delivery is confirmed on your quote, for your actual address. The full delivery rundown is here.
Often yes, especially if you design for future lean-tos, extra bays or enclosing from the start. Tell us your stage-two plan early and we’ll design for it now so you’re not boxed in.
Yes. Full builds stay close to home in the Somerset; that’s how we keep one crew on one job. Kits travel: engineered to your site from your property details, certified, and delivered — across South-East Queensland and surrounds, confirmed on your quote for your address.
Tell us about your shed.
A town, what needs to fit and a rough size if you have one gives us somewhere useful to start. Chianne will help get your enquiry to the right person. Please allow up to five business days for an initial reply.
