Your Money is Your Money
We quote transparently, stick to the price unless you change the scope, and treat your $50,000 investment like it’s our own.
Meet Rural Built Co

KB & Chianne Barr · Rural Built Co
Practical experience. A personal approach.
A shed has to work with the rest of your property: the way you get in, the machinery you use, the stock you manage and the plans you have for later.
That’s where we start. Before settling on a design, we talk through what needs to fit, how you’ll use the space and what the site will need. Then we work through the practical choices with you.
You may know us as Barr Contracting. Our background in rural fencing, yards, earthworks and on-property builds still shapes the work. We became Rural Built Co in 2025 as sheds and rural structures grew into our focus — the same family business, with a name that reflects what we do today.

This business supports our family. When you trust us with a project on your property, we take that personally. We want the finished shed — and the experience of getting it built — to be something we can stand behind.
The people, the family and the practical experience behind Rural Built Co.
We quote transparently, stick to the price unless you change the scope, and treat your $50,000 investment like it’s our own.
If we say we’ll be there Tuesday, we’re there Tuesday. If the customer wants something that’s not quite “by the book,” we find a compromise that works and still stands up.
Clear, consistent communication is part of how we work, not an add-on. We return calls, provide progress updates, and keep clients informed at every stage of the build. We welcome clients on site and make sure there are no surprises along the way. Over time, this approach builds more than just completed projects, it builds long-term relationships based on trust, transparency, and follow-through. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.

The people behind your shed
You’ll get to know the people behind your shed. KB looks after the practical design and build; Chianne helps bring enquiries, approvals and coordination together.

Director & Builder
KB works through the practical side of your shed: what it needs to do, how it fits the property and what it will take to build it.
KB’s background with Barr Contracting includes rural fencing, stock yards, earthworks and on-property builds across the Brisbane Valley. That work shapes the questions he asks before a shed design is settled: how you get onto the site, what needs to fit inside and how you’ll use it day to day.
At Rural Built Co, his focus is practical design, site requirements and construction. He helps turn a rough idea into a shed that makes sense for the property and the job it needs to do.
Beyond the build
Motorbikes, trucks and machinery are part of KB’s world beyond the shed itself. He and Chianne are building a family business around the life they want for their two kids.

Director & Client Coordination
Chianne helps bring the people, paperwork and next steps together, from the first enquiry through quoting, approvals and coordination.
Chianne looks after enquiries, the office and accounts, alongside approvals and project coordination. She helps get your questions to the right person and keeps the next steps clear while the practical details are worked through.
She understands that most people arrive with questions about size, cost and council requirements, rather than a finished design. A rough idea is enough to start a conversation with the team.
Beyond the build
Away from work, Chianne is into all things horses — cutting, campdrafting and horsemanship. It’s an interest she brings to conversations about shelters, stables and equine spaces.
